Supermarine Polyamide Epoxy
(SM-6000)
is a two-component, high-performance catalyst-cured polyamide
epoxy paint acceptable for either topside or in constant
submersion duty. It provides excellent adhesion, chemical
resistance, hardness and durability in harsh and abusive
industrial and marine applications. A government spec formula so
you know you are getting the best! Use it wherever salt air,
corrosive chemicals and abusive weather conditions require an
exceptionally hard, highly durable rust preventative barrier
coating. It provides outstanding protection in virtually all
interior and exterior shipboard applications. Intended for use
on all metals, wood, fiberglass, composite materials, concrete
and masonry.
Available as a two component kit. Acceptable for use on hulls,
bulkheads, decks, machinery, high traffic areas, control panels,
cabinets, material handling equipment, gangways and ramps. Use
it to refinish and protect water tanks and piping. Apply using
brush, roller or spray (conventional, airless or electrostatic).
One gallon covers 300 square feet. Dry to the touch in one hour,
tack free in 8 hours, recoat in 24 hours. Pot life is 8 hours @
70 degrees F. For added slip resistance in traffic areas add 1
lb fine pumice stone or ground rubber. Available in 100 colors
Available in gloss, semi-gloss and eggshell finishes. Custom
colors are available on request for an additional $10 per
gallon.
Recommendations:
Recommend applying two or more coats to achieve a minimum DFT of
4 mils. Refer to Application Instructions Sheet, Product Data
Sheet, label directions or contact us for additional
information.
Cleaner:
Recommend
SM-695 Etching Cleaner for fiberglass, aluminum,
concrete and prepared steel surfaces. Where rust is evident use
SM-5679 Rust Converting Cleaner.
Primer:
Aluminum, galvanized and Stainless: Use
SM-117 Pre-Wash Primer in combination with any other
Supermarine primer.
Fiberglass use
SM-664D Etching Primer or
SM-780 Mono Epoxy Primer.
Steel, iron & concrete:
SM-7390 Formula 150 Epoxy Primer.
Slip Resistance:
For added slip resistance add 8 ounces
SM-630 Pro-Tex, 1 lb Tred-Tex or Gaco-Grip.
Thinner:
Thinning not typically required. Use only with factory
recommended thinner,
SM-605 Thinner.
Clean up:
Clean with SM-605 Thinner.
