Product Data Sheet

Supermarine Epoxy (SM-6000) is a two-component, high-performance catalyst-cured polyamide epoxy paint acceptable for either topside or in constant submersion duty. It provides excellent adhesion, chemical resistance, hardness and durability in harsh and abusive industrial and marine applications. A government spec formula so you know you are getting the best! Use it wherever salt air, corrosive chemicals and abusive weather conditions require an exceptionally hard, highly durable rust preventative barrier coating. It provides outstanding protection in virtually all interior and exterior shipboard applications. Intended for use on all metals, wood, fiberglass, composite materials, concrete and masonry.

Available as a two component kit. Acceptable for use on hulls, bulkheads, decks, machinery, high traffic areas, control panels, cabinets, material handling equipment, gangways and ramps. Use it to refinish and protect water tanks and piping. Apply using brush, roller or spray (conventional, airless or electrostatic). One gallon covers 300 square feet. Dry to the touch in one hour, tack free in 8 hours, recoat in 24 hours. Pot life is 8 hours @ 70 degrees F. For added slip resistance in traffic areas add 1 lb fine pumice stone or ground rubber. Available in 100 colors Available in gloss, semi-gloss and eggshell finishes. Custom colors are available on request for an additional $10 per gallon.

Recommendations: Recommend applying two or more coats to achieve a minimum DFT of 4 mils. Refer to Application Instructions Sheet, Product Data Sheet, label directions or contact us for additional information.

Cleaner: Recommend SM-695 Etching Cleaner for fiberglass, aluminum, concrete and prepared steel surfaces. Where rust is evident use SM-5679 Rust Converting Cleaner.

Primer:

Aluminum, galvanized and Stainless: Use SM-117 Pre-Wash Primer in combination with any other Supermarine primer.

Fiberglass use SM-664D Etching Primer or SM-780 Mono Epoxy Primer.

Steel, iron & concrete: SM-7390 Formula 150 Epoxy Primer.

Slip Resistance: For added slip resistance add 8 ounces SM-630 Pro-Tex, 1 lb Tred-Tex or Gaco-Grip.

Thinner: Thinning not typically required. Use only with factory recommended thinner, SM-605 Thinner.
